The brand is Japanese, but inside one of these boxes you'll find snack sticks tailored to Bangkok tastes.
The company that makes Pocky also puts out Pretz (10 baht per box, or about 28 cents at the time), which despite the name have a bite more like long skinny biscuits. The "corn" and "pizza" flavors, which I passed up, and the "fried" and "roast" flavors (above, center and right) are distributed in a number of countries, even if the roast, for some reason, is labeled "Isan." The box to the left seems to be unique to Thailand, courtesy of the manufacturer's Bangkok-based subsidiary; I'd love to hear of a New York source for "larb" flavored Pretz. Any leads, dear readers?
