Once I cracked the shell I found that all the coloring had been done on the inside. The proprietors explained that this common Lao street food (three for $1) was prepared by emptying the egg through the hole, cooking the contents with salt and black pepper, and pouring them back in. There's something speckled and green going on at the fat end, too, but I don't know what. The little tub of hot sauce was as potent as a SPECTRE contact poison.
Directly above the market (third building from the left) there's a great old sign for the Lineman's Club; does anyone know more about this establishment?
