Chicago's Billy Goat Tavern inspired a well-known Saturday Night Live sketch, which in turn may have inspired this national chain with a station in JFK's JetBlue terminal.
Since I ordered via a touchscreen and not a counterman, I had a moment to customize my classic burger ($5.49) with provolone (50 cents), light lettuce, tomato, extra pickle, and "h-57," as it was coded on my pickup slip. Cheeburger Cheeburger does offer fries, too, not just chips, but before boarding my flight to New Orleans, I was unwilling to ingest an additional 1,019 calories. True to form, the soda dispensers (shared, like the checkout, with several other stations) offered "No Coke — Pepsi" in one large size ($2.99) to wash down one very dry burger.
