Combine them, and through talent or wizardry you might conceive the likes of Mahony's grilled shrimp, fried green tomato, and spicy remoulade po' boy (6-inch, $9.50; also 12-inch $13.75). This sunny, sporty bar in the Irish Channel (note telltale shamrock below) also turns out a lengthy roster of more traditional sandwiches — their Peacemaker, which marries fried oysters with bacon and cheddar, won the "best classic fried" category at the 2008 New Orleans Po-Boy Preservation Festival — but after one bite into a perfectly grilled shrimp, you'll understand why this is Mahony's best-seller.
