(This venue — the snack stand, not the iglesia — seems to be closed.) Bacalaitos are on hand twice a week.
The codfish fritters keep company with pastelitos, pasteles en hoja, and (generally) arroz y gandules, too. My bacalaito ($1), which had emerged from the basement kitchen mere minutes ago, was light and fresh-tasting, not as oily as most, yet soft and warm within.
