This unassuming storefront — whose newer, brighter awning also trims the "s" from "Flakes" — prepares exceptional Jamaican patties ($1.50 each). Thin skins and moist fillings like jerk chicken (first two photos below), vegetable (below that), and shrimp (still haven't seen it) are safest in a coco bread cradle, if you'll be on the move. I prefer to linger two minutes, eat mine on the spot, and keep one eye cocked for a fresh batch of shrimp patties.
