Bûche de Noël is a Christmastime dessert best-known in French-speaking countries. Typically it's made from sponge cake rolled with buttercream, shaped and sometimes elaborately decorated to resemble the namesake Yule log. This double-chocolate version (slice; $3.95) is accompanied by a button mushroom made of meringue. Also from Connie's — which "provide[s] a hand-up to our neighbors who have sustained a variety of barriers to sustainable employment" and which donates its net proceeds to charity — pumpkin cake with maple cream (slice; $3.75).
