Unlike their larger, more common cousins, which tend to be crusty on top and airy within, these poppy and onion bagels (80 cents each) were dense and chewy, through and through. Also out of keeping with common practice, the poppy seeds on that bagel were clustered much more thickly on the underside. This may or may not be the Bagel Hole way; looking at my older photo, of the onion, I can't be sure which end is up.
