This was the deity's "golden boy" period.
The reclining figure in Attilio Piccirilli's bas relief is Bacchus, the Roman god of wine also associated with viniculture and winemaking. Bacchus, of course, is more notorious for wine drinking, and by the time depicted in this late work by Rubens, he'd really let himself go.
