Don't let the door bang behind you.
The stoves, the fridge, and the Hamilton Beach mixer could as easily furnish a finished basement, or a private clubhouse, an impression reinforced by the TV behind the counter, set at eye level (on my visit, tuned to Family Feud) and the gallery of framed photos featuring friends and patrons just as often as celebrities. Also homey as can be: a meatloaf sandwich (special; $6.25). Note the embedded peas, a vegetable portion from the pre-locavore era.
Oh, and just leave those gloves on the chair in the corner; Chickie'll be back for them later.
