To the left, limber, buttery grits; to the right, coarsely breaded, smothered chicken livers (special; $6). Briefly I regretted passing up the fried apples (also a special; $3), but mopping the plate with a pair of warm biscuits left me with a sense of completeness; adding to my order would have left me in need of a nap.
