But a flying leap to the States, where it's much harder to get your hands on this Australian root beer (375 ml.; S$2). The flavor is hard to pin down, too: Though made with sarsaparilla root and cane sugar, Bundaberg's brew also employs vanilla bean, ginger root, licorice root, and molasses. The final product is a bit more bitter than sweet, light on the carbonation, with a heavier-than-usual mouthfeel.
