Cheng tng (S$1.50, about US$1.20 at the time) is a clear dessert soup featuring ingredients like sweet potato, barley, stewed ginkgo nuts, white fungus, dried longans, and, inevitably, one or two items that thwart easy identification. Also served hot, if you prefer.
