You bet, especially when their white-and-yellow laxative ad (with "Fletcher's" in script") is partially painted over by another ad promoting Turkish cigarettes.
Thanks to Frank Jump for peeling apart the layers, figuratively speaking. The distinctive "C" makes this one of the most readily identifiable old ad campaigns in the city, even when very faded.
Also shown: A wider view from Chinatown, revealing a mention of "something you have always bought"; two angles of back-to-back ads intended for LIRR passengers traveling through Jamaica, Queens, noting that Fletcher's is "made especially for children"; surviving signage in East Harlem — the long shot also depicts an old promo insisting that "all cars transfer to Bloomingdale's" — and in West Harlem.
