(This venue is closed.) You'll never imagine that you're drinking from a real coconut, of course. The rich green color, the broad-bellied contour, and the striated top of Pearl Royal coconut water (310 ml., $2.75) do their best to evoke that innocent pleasure, but the lemon-lime flavoring is a giveaway. So is the ripcord; what could it be attached to? Peel off the green plastic overwrap and pop open the tan cardboard caddy, and you'll find a much more prosaic "coconut" inside.
Web research reveals that this is a sturdier version of Pearl River's previous effort. The coconut water tastes perfectly fine, but it's overpackaged.
