The United States Postal Service doesn't move at bullet speed, and in this instance it was just as well.
Two restaurants with similar, Dominican-leaning menus sit on the stretch of Bridge St. that divides Dumbo from Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn; the one where the mail carrier parked his pushcart was the more enticing destination for my pit stop, too. The lunch combos looked ample for the price, but I'd just eaten, and a morir soñando was on my mind instead. The literal meaning of the name is "to die dreaming," though for a drink that blends orange juice, milk, sugar, and ice, "liquid Creamsicle" also captures the spirit. This morir soñando ($4) wasn't the thickest, but it shared an important feature with the best streetside versions: seeds at the bottom of the cup, tokens of fresh-squeezed juice.
