Blink and you'll miss it: The distinctive feature of a linzer cookie ($2.75) is the circular cutout that reveals the filling. Give the nod to a few shakes of confectioner's sugar, however, and — poof! — it's gone. You'll still be able to recognize the flavor by the little bit of jam that peeks out of the side (this one's raspberry), or, better still, by taking a bite. But if you've stepped outside with your cookie, take care to stand upwind, or — poof! — a cloud of sugar will be headed your way.
Also shown: onion rolls.
