Rosols (potato bolstered by ham and egg) and krabju nūjiņu salāti (rice with crab), two typically leafless, and very filling, Latvian salads. Not shown from the wood-paneled dining room, despite repeat visits to the buffet: blood sausages, cabbage and sausages, wonderful meatballs in white sauce, and a crackling fireplace.
