Introduced c. 1900 by a Harlem resident whose advertising company also painted these walls, Omega Oil was a topical liniment. That is, it was not to be taken internally; except in name Omega Oil was unrelated to the healthful omega-3 fatty acids found in fish oil as well as certain plant and nut oils. Do note, however, that the ad for this cure-all — shown in 2009 but still in fine shape today, after more than a century — was designed as a triptych.
