This sibling to the DF Nigerian Gourmet Food Truck was freshening up, near an auto spa, when it caught my eye on a recent weekend (first photo). By early afternoon it had parked in its usual spot (final photo), not far from a long line of customers waiting for Liberian-inflected soul food at Mona's.
Many Liberians do live in this neighborhood, noted one of the fellows working the truck, and early on some of them had asked after kala (Kah-lah). The fellows didn't recognize the name, but from a description that might have applied to Nigerian puff puff — something along the lines of "deep-fried balls of dough" — they modified their menu board accordingly.
