On wheels (from a truck) and on bread ("no pão"), flavors of Portugal: pork cutlet with smoked pork loin ($7); blood sausage pressed with tomatoes, cheese, and sauteed onions ($9). Both take well to the chef's aioli, but a dash of his housemade hot sauce is the clincher.

Much mellower than many similar events; most in attendance seemed to be locals and not out-of-towners. A softball-sized arancino ($6) was doused with marinara sauce; the rice, which had grown a tad gummy, was wedded with ground beef, mozzarella, and peas, though in my rice ball these last were as rare as pearls.
Hush puppies (five for $5) were shaken, in that paper bag, with a light dose of cinnamon and sugar. These came courtesy of an Englishtown, New Jersey outfit called My Two Sons Crab Cakes; I might have ordered the namesake items, or a Savannah-style shrimp sandwich, if they hadn't sold out earlier in the day.

Completed in 1907 for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad, the Hoboken Terminal was extensively renovated for its centennial. Naturally, over more than 100 years of continuous use, the terminal has also been subject to all sorts of modifications. Today, for example, these "lunch room" doors are controlled by a keyless entry system and bear the legend "authorized personnel only."
The Hoboken Terminal has been home to many eateries over its long life, too. This was once an entrance to the Lackawanna Restaurant, which last served the public a half-century ago.
